Alexander Peskanov often refers to this G Major concerto as the Royal Concerto, published by Classical Video Concepts, Inc. The first movement, At the Royal Court, reflects the scenes of 18th Century English Royal Court. The second movement, Lacrimosa, which means "weeping" in Latin, begins with a little intro, a dialog between soloist and orchestra. The third movement, Pirate's Cove, starts with a happy tune, which trumpet plays alone, later joined by the orchestra. This concerto presents a great showcase for students, and serves as a unique launching pad for much more challenging Trumpet Concerto Repertoire.
