Spirits of the Wind was composed during a raging
thunderstorm. Through the sound of the wind,
Peskanov could almost hear the voice of
his first piano teacher, Rosalia. The piece
evolved into a tribute to his teacher,
and was used as the title track for his CD,
Spirits of the Wind. Written in the
traditions of Lizst and Rachmaninov, it
has a thick texture and distinct,
yet unusual harmonies.
Peskanov has recorded this piece on his album
"Spirits of the Wind"
